The Tausend93 restaurant in the Seehotel Maria Laach is one of the monastery businesses of the Benedictine abbey.

Benedictine hospitality is our model and our standard; sustainability in everything we do is our mission, one we are happy to fulfil and actively live by.

We get our fish from the monastery fishery – directly from Lake Laach. We also get the beef and pork on offer from the organic Maria Laach monastery estate.

Only in Tausend93 do you dine from tableware made exclusively in the Benedictine Abbey’s ceramic manufactory. Hand-painted fine pasta
follows the Bauhaus idea, which is omnipresent in the Maria Laach monastery:

Culinary delights with predominantly regional and seasonal ingredients. Enjoy meat from the organic monastery estate or fish, direct and fresh from Lake Laach.

Young guests are very welcome here! We are happy to provide a painting set for their entertainment. Children’s chairs are, of course, also available.

Our primary goal is that you feel comfortable with us and that you can enjoy yourself and relax. Please be sure to contact us if something is not to your satisfaction! That’s the only way we can get better.

Our portions are arranged in such a way that as little as possible is left over and we thus prevent overproduction of food. If you are lacking anything, please talk to us and we will be happy to serve you a second helping.

Tausend93 anno Domini is a formative year for the village of Maria Laach. It represents the beginning of the Laach chronology and is the year in which Count Palatine Heinrich II founded the monastery of Maria Laach. For more than 925 years, Maria Laach has been a place of interdenominational appeal throughout the entire European region and a destination for many guests throughout the year.

Tausend93 manifests the promise to live the much quoted Benedictine hospitality, also in our traditional hotel, and to make it tangible for our guests.

Tausend93 defines itself as a monastic enterprise. We are proud to, alongside seasonal and regional cuisine, use works from other monastery businesses to promote the well-being of our guests in our restaurant. Thus, we serve excellent monastery beer. Food and drinks are served on and in hand-painted ceramics from the monastery’s ceramic manufactory. The furniture and interiors come from the Laacher art foundry and the abbey’s carpentry workshop.

Enjoy in the Tausend93: Laacher monastery beer. Our monastery beer was created in cooperation with the Vulkan Brewery in Mendig. The recipe was developed during an extensive tasting session with the Laach monks. We serve the Helle Laacher Klosterbier at Tausend93 – a light beer inspired by a centuries-old tradition.
